Cygnus installed on one of the largest projects in Europe

Bull Products have supplied our prestigious Cygnus wireless alarm system to the current phase of one of the largest construction projects in the UK – Hinkley Point nuclear power station in Somerset.

The £18billion project will involve more than 5,000 site workers at peak periods and the development of two nuclear reactors, which will supply seven per cent of the country’s electricity consumption. The project will provide power for more than six million homes and will also be the most expensive power station in the world.

Bull Products was contracted to supply its Cygnus alarm devices for the protection of workers during construction of the infrastructure and temporary site accommodation, which will provide safe overnight accommodation for more than 950 workers in the following phases of the project.

An outstanding innovation in wireless emergency fire, first aid, and intruder alarms for construction sites, the Cygnus radio system is manufactured in the UK, has already protected some of the largest construction projects across the country including One Blackfriars, 22 Bishopsgate, Crossrail, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Embassy Gardens, and much more.

Cygnus has been designed for specific use on construction sites where changing site conditions and environments demand a far higher performance from the radio than those found in standard wireless fire systems. It is ideal for complex projects that require long distance connections and in areas of dense concrete or steel frames and also underground locations.
