Cygnus alarm system heightens fire safety at 22 Bishopsgate

We are delighted that our Cygnus Wireless Alarm System is currently protecting 22 Bishopsgate, the tallest tower in the heart of London.

22 Bishopsgate is a 62-storey skyscraper that has now reached its highest point! Once complete, it will house 12,000 workers and include a range of restaurants and shops.

The Cygnus system which incorporates our Fire Call Point and First Aid Alarms and the Cygnus Detector Interface Units has been installed to protect the entire building throughout the duration of the project.

The Fire Call Point and First Aid Alarm provides a cost-effective and reliable solution for construction sites. By having a first aid alarm on site, workers can ensure first aiders are notified immediately of any incident and its location, thus providing maximum protection in an emergency.

The Cygnus Wireless Alarm System has been combined with 3G Auto Dialler which sends SMS text messages to pre-programmed phone numbers when the Cygnus system is activated . The Auto Dialler provides security out of hours as well as during the day.

When the system is triggered, the recipients (the site manager or the H&S person) will get a notification to state when the system was activated, what type of activation has triggered the system, and if it initiated from a unit or the control panel.

Director Bradley Markham, says: “This large-scale project required an alarm system that could work effectively across several floors without obstruction to provide maximum safety and protection to workers. Our Cygnus Alarm System can connect up to 480 individual units in 15 different zones and is more than capable of protecting a project as complex as 22 Bishopsgate.”
