The Cygnus Wireless Alarm System has been chosen to offer fire safety protection during the demolition of high-rise London office buildings, Landmark House and Thames Tower.
The demolition will commence in January 2020 to make way for a new development featuring two office blocks at six and 22-storeys, and a 22-storey hotel; the tallest in the Hammersmith district.
Due to the demolition taking place in a densely populated area of London, it is crucial that the site is secure in order to enhance safety for both workers and members of the public.
The Cygnus Wireless Alarm System can be connected to multiple levels across both existing high-rise buildings to maximise fire safety, and is therefore the ideal fire safety solution during this demolition. The Cygnus Fire Call Point Alarm will be linked to the Control Panel, which can collect data from up to 480 devices, thanks to its long-range signal strength.
Bradley Markham, director at Bull Products, says: “During a demolition project, the risk of a fire or explosion breaking out is high, therefore adequate fire alarms located around the site are an essential part of managing those fire risks and ensuring workers and members of the public are kept safe. This is particularly important when undertaking construction work in a highly populated area.”
