We’re delighted to announce that the Cygnus ExclusionZone Alarm has won the Beaumont Safety Trophy Award.
The Beaumont Safety Trophy is awarded to one entrant each year in recognition of the best new working methods for the prevention of construction industry accidents, therefore we are honoured to have been recognised.
What is the ExclusionZone Alarm?
The ExclusionZone Alarm System showcases the innovative features of the Cygnus range. This adaptive system is designed specifically for construction sites to give warning of danger and exclusion zones. Applications would include areas where plant is being operated, crane and lifting operations, and dangerous ‘out-of-bounds’ locations.
It has been designed for use on construction environments and can help workers or pedestrians keep away from dangerous areas where a plant is being operated or crane and lifting operations are underway.
How does it work?
One or more ExclusionZone Alarms can be fixed to barriers or fencing around the danger zone and are activated to send a clear visual and audible warning to site personnel when the high-risk activity is in operation. The system includes a base panel which can activate and silence the system from the site office.
Benefits of the ExclusionZone Alarm
- Clearer communication of when an exclusion zone or restricted zone is active, no risk of misinterpretation.
- The ExclusionZone alarm system can be activated from a safe distance, so it is user-friendly and more likely to be activated (then de-activated) at the correct time.
- The units can be relocated easily when the need for an exclusion zone or restricted zone changes, providing a cost-effective solution.
Working In conjunction with BAM Construction, the ExclusionZone Alarm system has been engineered by Bull Products and has been supplied to some of the UK’s largest construction contractors including Kier, Skanska, Wilmot Dixon and Lendlease.
Chris Scoins, Project Manager at BAM’s Helston Community College site in Cornwall, recognised the practical benefit of the alarms and said: ‘I would use the ExclusionZone alarms again in a heartbeat!’.
